This is Tabby and she was born in 1996. A.K.A. : Tabby Girl and Tabby Wabbie. She is very lucky to be alive, she almost died in 2000. The vet had given her a 5% chance of living. She had stopped eating and her body was shutting down and she was turning yellow. After two days at the vet getting fluids and intravenous feeding, I took her home to care for her. I force fed her with food on my finger and water in a syringe three times a day for two months before she started eating on her own. She went to the vet 3 times a week during those two months and was on three different pills twice a day. I do watch her closely now so she doesn't relapse. She did about in 2003, but I caught it early and she recovered quickly. Tabby is happy to be alive and I'm so glad she's still here with me too. She has become my little lap kitty. If I'm on my computer or sitting on the couch she's in my lap. Tabby is getting older and has developed Hyperthyroidism. She is on medication twice a day to keep it under control. So far so good. She has gotten a little skinnier in her old age but she was a little too chubby before. So I think its all balanced out now. She still loves catnip and likes to sit in the front window in the morning sun everyday. |
