Here are my furbabies! My own cats are my inspiration and models for much of my cat artwork. Here’s a little about each of them, and don't forget to scroll down to see the full photo gallery of Anakin & The Fur Gang!

Anakin “Ani” — AKA Boogie or Booginz — is our two-legged cat, born in April 2012 without a pelvis or back legs, but that doesn’t stop him. He is full of love and life!

Mika — AKA Mika Bunny, Bun Bun, or just Bunny — is Anakin’s brother from another mother. We rescued Mika from a Texas shelter in February 2013 when he was about 10 months old.
Mika is a special kitty just like Anakin. Mika has about half of a tail. He has all of one leg except for the actual foot part where the pads and toes would be, and his other leg stops a little way past his knee and just rounds off at the end. They say he was born this way.
We had a custom-made prosthetic house slipper foot made for Mika so he would be able to walk easier with his almost complete back leg. So far, he has not wanted to use the slipper and thinks he is just fine without it. Mika is a super friendly, sweet cat and easily made himself at home with Anakin & The Gang.
Pixie — AKA Pudge or Pudgy — was born in spring of 2010. She is our little scaredy cat and hides from everyone who comes over to the house.
Pixie and her sister Trixie were kittens we got from the dumpster at my dad’s work in spring of 2010. They had about six wild cats living in the woods where my dad used to work, and he fed them. One of the cats had five kittens and decided the dumpster was the safest place to keep her babies.
The guys there caught the kittens and found them all homes. Before retiring, my dad trapped the remaining cats and got them spayed and neutered. They were then relocated to a wonderful area where they are cared for by a very sweet lady.
Pixie’s sister Trixie passed away November 21, 2025. She is forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
Arya — AKA Aryee, Wildling, or My Beautiful — was born in spring of 2017. She was in the middle of the road in my brother-in-law’s neighborhood and not moving. Cars were just driving around her like she wasn’t there!
She ran into someone’s yard when I came up to her. I had some cat food, and she was starving, so after some coaxing and following her under cars and in bushes, my daughter and I were able to catch her.
She ate all the food I gave her and was already purring on Angel’s lap within a few hours of being at our home. I took her to the vet the next morning, and she was approximately 10 weeks old, weighed 1.75 pounds, and should have weighed around 3 pounds at that age.
Arya had a rough start, but she’s perfect now!
They were born in my neighbor’s shed and we trapped them all. I was going to just foster them and find them homes, but I am the biggest foster failure ever! We kept all the kittens. I couldn’t let them go. We love them all too much!
Meet Kazu, Romeo, Quincy, and Forrest — our new furbabies and the very best things to come out of that crappy year 2020 for our family.
I still take care of their mother, Mama Moo Moo, too. She is very feral and won’t even let me near her. I trapped her and had her spayed, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. She still comes over to eat in my front yard almost every day.
I am heartbroken to share that we have lost two of our boys to complications from Feline Diabetes. Forrest passed away December 25, 2022, and Kazu passed away August 15, 2024. Forrest and Kazu are both forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten. Romeo and Quincy are doing well, and we have been monitoring them since Feline Diabetes seems to run in their family.
Miko — AKA Floppy — and Milo — AKA Feisty — are my Grandkitties. Bio coming soon!
My sweet furbabies are forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten. Every one of them was a cherished member of our family and helped shape the love of cats that inspires my artwork today. They may no longer be with us, but they will always be loved and remembered.
