Here are my furbabies! My own cats are my inspiration & models for much of my cat artwork. Here's a little about each of them and a photo gallery below. I post regularly about all my furbabies on Anakin's website, Facebook, Twitter and other social media pages.
Anakin "Ani" ( AKA Boogie or Booginz ) is our two legged cat, born in April 2012 without a pelvis or back legs but that doesn't stop him. He is full of love & life! I am posting updates, photos and videos of Anakin on his Facebook page, Twitter, YouTube and other social media sites as he grows. I invite you to can read Anakin's FAQ to learn more about him. Mika is Anakin's Brother from another We rescued Mika from a Texas shelter in February 2013 when he was about 10 months old. Mika is a special kitty just like Anakin. Mika has about 1/2 of a tail. He has all of one leg except for the actual foot part where the pads and toes would be, and his other leg stops a little way passed his knee and just rounds off at the end. They say he was born this way. We had a custom-made prosthetic house slipper foot for Mika so he would be able to walk easier with his almost complete back leg. So far, he has not to want to use the slipper and thinks he is just fine without it. We have not pushed the issue since it was making him angry. Mika is a super friendly sweet cat and easily made himself at home with Anakin and The Gang. You can keep up with Mika's progress through Anakin's online pages.
Pixie( AKA Pudge or Pudgy ) born spring of 2010. She is our little scaredy cat. She hides from everyone that comes over to the house. Anakin & Mika like to give her a hard time too. She shows them though because she can easily jump up on something away from them anytime she wants. Pixie and her sister Trixie were kittens we got from the dumpster at my dad's work in the spring of 2010. Yes, they were living in the dumpster, but they weren't dumped. They had about 6 wild cats living in the woods where my dad used to work. He fed them. One of the cats there had 5 kittens ...and decided the dumpster was the safest place to keep her babies. So, the guys there caught the kittens and found them all homes. Before retiring my dad trapped the remaining cats and got them spayed/neutered. They were then all relocated to a wonderful area where they are all cared for by a very sweet lady.
Trixie ( AKA Fat Girl or Pretty Girl ) is Pixie's sister also born spring 2010. Besides Mika, Trixie is our most outgoing cat. She is always happy to greet anyone that comes over our house. It's amazing how two cats raised the same together link Trixie & Pixie can have such completely opposite personalities. Also, Trixie loves to eat! She will eat all the other’s food if I don't watch her. She also loves to lounge in the sun on our screened porch. Trixie is just an all-around happy, friendly cat.
Arya ( AKA Aryee, Wildling, Beautiful ) born spring of 2017. Our newest baby! She was in the middle of the road in my brother-in-law's neighborhood & not moving. Cars were just driving around her like she wasn't there! She ran into someone's yard when I came up to her. I had some cat food, and she was starving so after some coaxing & following her under cars & in bushes my daughter and I were able to catch her. She ate all the food I gave her and was already purring on Angel's lap (my daughter) within a few hours of being at our home. I took her to the vet that next morning and she was approximately 10 weeks old, weighed 1.75 pounds and should weigh around 3 pounds at that age. Arya had a rough start but she's perfect now & as you can see by her belly, she's making up for being a skinny kitten!
The Boys! Our Hurricane Sally Kitties! They were born in my neighbors shed & we trapped them all. I was going to just foster them and find them homes BUT.... I am the BIGGEST Foster Failure Ever! We kept ALL the Kittens! I couldn't let them go! We Love them all too much! Meet Kazu, Romeo, Quincy & Forrest! Our New Furbabies & the Very Best Things to come out of that crappy year 2020 for our family! I still take care of their mother Mama Moo Moo too. She is very feral and won't even let me near her. I trapped her and had her spayed, vaccinated and ear-tipped. She still comes over the eat in my front yard almost every day! Also, I know this is probably obvious but... I'm not allowed to foster kittens anymore LOL! I will write more about them all individually when I have more time.
♥ Buddy ♥ Our Rainbow Bridge Dog. Rest in Peace, We love & miss you!
